Why choose Golden Charter?

When you take out a funeral plan with Golden Charter, you have the reassurance that comes with choosing one of the UK’s largest funeral plan providers1, proudly owned by local, independent funeral directors.

  • Stay Close to Home

We are owned by the people who understand your needs best – local, independent funeral directors, each one ready to extend a comforting arm when it’s needed. With almost 3,000 funeral directors in our network across the UK ready to accept our funeral plans2, you and your family will be able to find help close to home whenever it’s needed.

  • Personal Service

Many of the funeral directors in the Golden Charter network are family run businesses who hold a trusted place in their local community. When the time comes, one phone call to the chosen funeral director will ensure everything is taken care of, and carried out according to your wishes. Your family will receive a genuinely personal service when it matters most.

  • Funeral Planning Authority Registered Provider

Set up by the funeral industry, the FPA aims to ensure customers receive the funeral they have paid for when it is needed. As a registered provider with the FPA, we are committed to protecting customers’ payments and we guarantee to cover the funeral director’s services included in your plan.

  • Your Payments Are Protected

When you take out a Golden Charter funeral plan, rest assured your payments are protected. Depending on how you wish to pay, your funds are paid into the Golden Charter Trust, currently valued at £1.126 billion, or paid into one of the UK’s leading life assurance policies.
