Having raised £139,000 in our first year of collaboration, we are delighted to announce we are proud to support The Royal British Legion and its sister organisation, Poppyscotland, for a second year. Adding to our current total, all funds raised will directly help the Armed Forces community - including serving men and women, veterans and their families - with a range of support.

Ronnie Wayte, CEO of Golden Charter, said: "We are delighted to announce that Golden Charter and our network of independent Funeral Directors across the UK have exceeded our fundraising target of £100,000 for The Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland. While we are delighted to have achieved this, we know there's a lot more that can be done in our second year of the collaboration. I'd like to thank every independent funeral director business that contributed and their local communities for the part that their generosity has played in raising money for this great cause to date, and look forward to another successful year."

From every eligible funeral plan sold, a £25 donation has been made to The Royal British Legion or Poppyscotland helping to add to the total. In addition, our network of independent funeral directors throughout the UK have been fundraising through a variety of activities including hosting community events, award-winning window displays in local communities and also continuing the £25 donation for every eligible funeral plan sold in branch.

Gordon Michie, Head of Fundraising at Poppyscotland, said: "This support from Golden Charter is something we value highly. Donations like this can make truly life-changing differences to those who have served, those still serving and their families who are in need of our help.

"We offer tailored support and funding for the Armed Forces community, including help with employment, mobility, respite and breaks, housing and mental health difficulties. We're proud of the work we do but we know that we can't do it alone. Without public donations, hard work and support from organisations like Golden Charter; this simply would not be possible."

For the second year running, a £25 donation will be made to the charities for every funeral plan sold directly through Golden Charter and our network of participating independent funeral directors throughout the UK.

Claire Rowcliffe, Director of Fundraising at The Royal British Legion said: "We're incredibly pleased to be working with Golden Charter. Their ongoing support will enable us to continue our work providing vital care and support to members of the British Armed Forces, past and present, and their families. The Royal British Legion is at the heart of a national network that supports our Armed Forces community through thick and thin, and we are extremely grateful to Golden Charter for their generous donation which helps ensure we can continue to be there for those who need us now and in the future."
