Our eighth year with Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland

19 Oct 2023 | 1 min read time

This year marks the eighth year of our partnership with the Royal British Legion (RBL) and Poppyscotland. Together with our network of independent funeral directors, we’ve raised over £700,000 for the charities since our partnership began.

This year, over 500 funeral directors are on board to participate in our latest campaign. A donation of £25 will be made to the Royal British Legion or Poppyscotland for every eligible Golden Charter funeral plan purchased*.

For the first time during Remembrance, we’re supporting families with our digital memorial service, Light a Candle. Light a Candle allows you to create a free, digital memorial candle. Look out for your local participating funeral director or follow us on Facebook for more information.

How your donations help the Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland

The Royal British Legion directly supports serving and ex-serving members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, and their families. Poppyscotland is a member of the Royal British Legion group of charities, providing support for the Armed Forces community in Scotland.

Each £25 donation will go towards lifelong support for serving and ex-serving personnel. This support can include guidance from specialists, support in transitioning to civilian life, and assistance in the rehabilitation process.

“Our life-changing work would not be possible without Golden Charter’s ongoing commitment and generosity,” said Lucy Parkinson, Corporate Partnerships Manager for Royal British Legion. “Thank you for helping ensure that everyone in the Armed Forces community can access the support they deserve.”
